After two years, we finally got the sequel we deserve, Hades II was announced, and we couldn’t be happier.
One of the first games to hit our radar at The Game Awards 2022 was the announcement of Hades II. For those who haven’t played the first game, in this rogue you fight in ancient Greek mythology.
The art style is amazing, the music is astounding, and the gameplay is immersive to the limit. While Hades has garnered acclaim at numerous awards, and has been voted by many as the best indie game to come out in 2020 (and 2021, thanks to its console releases).
From what the trailer suggests, Hades 2 will be very similar to the original we know and love. The short trailer opens with an epic fight scene followed by a brief dialogue. Although our heroine, Melinoe, clearly wishes to become stronger, she is convinced that it is only a matter of time. Her mentor, Hecate, encouraged her to go with the words “death to Kronos”.
I see the Titans’ action approaching. Kronos is known in Greek mythology as the father of Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon; these are heavy hits. He is also a Titan, a divine being who preceded the Olympians and waged war against them before his final defeat. However, some stories aren’t quite that simple, so we’re hoping for more and better action than ever before.
Do not worry; there will be some friendlier faces like Apollo and Nemesis to help you on your way to the Titan figurehead. All in all, this sequel looks like it’s celebrating its roots while creating its own mythic name for itself.
